Star Anise is quarterly magazine celebrating Chinese American culture in New York. Each issue focuses on a single overarching topic spanning art, music, culture, and food. Star Anise seeks to explore cultural themes within second generation Chinese American lifestyles through a light-hearted but critical lens. A website was also created to accompany the magazine, featuring selected articles, events, and more. As events are cancelled due to Covid, Star Anise is hosting weekly virtual events to help connect the Chinese American community and support small businesses through this issue's topic: food.
